..on this Thanksgiving weekend I thought it fitting to give thanks for our natural wonders. We visited Green Point last week and had visited it in 2014 with our grandchildren; and although we loved this place, we really did not fully understand its geological significance.
Exploring the beach, we found this rock …if you look carefully on the edge you will also see #Smile Rock NL …works for me and what great penmanship!
Green Point is approximately 12 km north of Rocky Harbour and is another of my favourite places. Apparently geologists come from all over the world to study the limestone and shale here which date to prehistoric time. The rocks, the driftwood, the beautiful sunsets make Green Point a destination must.
It’s difficult to believe that one cliff face could hold so many textures and different rock outcroppings.

Green Point is also a beachcomber’s paradise.
The sunsets here are definitely a reason to be thankful.
Prehistoric rocks, driftwood, the ocean and amazing vistas….what’s not to like.
